Perrotis College Participates in 4th VOICES Project Event in Brussels on Anti-Racism and Integration Policy

Brussels, Belgium — Perrotis College participated in the 4th international event (High Level Summit) of the EU co-funded CERV project VOICES (Voices from Migrations),from the 13th till the 15th of January 2026, held in Brussels and dedicated to strengthening inclusive policymaking through dialogue between institutions, civil society, and migrant communities.

The event brought together local administrators from the Calabria Region, EU policymakers, civil society organisations, students, and representatives of migrant communities. Its central objective was the co-drafting of a Local Anti-Racism and Integration Action Plan, with a particular focus on the realities and needs of Calabria and Southern Italy.

The conference placed strong emphasis on inclusion and community-building, directly connecting civil society voices with decision-making processes at both European and regional levels. The discussions and policy work were grounded in the testimonies and narratives collected by more than 150 students from 20 countries during the first phase of the VOICES project. These lived experiences formed the basis for evidence-informed dialogue and collaborative policy development.

Representing Perrotis College, Pantelis Chantzaras, Coordinator of Student and Alumni Affairs and Vice President of EucA, participated in the conference activities and discussions.

“VOICES demonstrates how education, participation, and lived experience can meaningfully shape policy. Bringing students, migrant communities, and policymakers to the same table is not symbolic—it is essential for building effective, inclusive, and credible action plans,” said Pantelis Chantzaras.

Perrotis College’s participation in the VOICES project reflects its ongoing commitment to civic engagement, social responsibility, and the promotion of fundamental rights through higher education. Through student involvement, community collaboration, and international partnerships, the institution continues to contribute to initiatives that support democratic values and social cohesion across Europe.
