The establishment of a fruitful dialogue between farmers, agricultural advisors and researchers, for the co-formulation of practical solutions that respond to the specific needs of Greek agricultural systems, was at the heart of the 2nd Workshop of the “Live Laboratory for Carbon Farming in Greece” (GRECFL²). It took place in the amphitheater of the “Aliki Perrotis” educational center of Perrotis College, within the School’s facilities, and was a crucial initiative within the framework of the European project LILAS4SOILS.

The day’s program focused on the meaningful exchange of field experiences, starting with a review of what has worked or hindered the implementation of carbon sequestration agriculture in practice. Through group work and participatory processes, attendees prioritized and identified solutions that enhance soil health and climate change mitigation.

The importance of the Workshop lies in the holistic approach to the issue adopted, as it sought to bridge the gap between scientific research and everyday agricultural practice. Upon completion, key conclusions were drawn that determined the next steps for the transition of Greek agriculture to a greener and more resilient model, while ensuring the sustainability and productivity of the countryside.
