For the second consecutive year, Faye Sotiriou, English faculty member at Perrotis College of the American Farm School, has been recognized at the ELT Excellence Awards, receiving two prestigious awards this year and building on her achievements from 2025.

This year’s double recognition comes in the “Teaching Adults” and “Teacher Training & Support” categories, highlighting her innovative approach both to student learning and to the training and professional support of educators.

Of particular significance is the Gold Award in the “Teaching Adults” category, which she received among 144 finalist entries from Greece, Cyprus, and Turkey. This achievement marks a step up from 2025, when she received the Silver Award in the same category.

Ms. Sotiriou teaches first-year students courses such as Academic Writing, Public Speaking & Business Communication, and Composition, applying contemporary teaching methods and techniques aimed at developing not only students’ language proficiency but also their soft skills, which are considered essential to their academic development and future professional careers.

Her second distinction this year came in the “Teacher Training & Support” category, where she received the category’s only Silver Award, accompanied by a special video feature. According to the judges’ evaluation, no Gold or Bronze Award was presented in this category. Ms. Sotiriou was the only candidate whose score distinguished her work in teacher training and professional support.
